S.A.S.H.

WHERE: S.A.S.H (The Abercrombie)

WHEN: Monday 31st December, 2012

So, the time has come to announce our very first NYE party at The Abercrombie. Since the beginning of time, people have brought in the new year with festivities based around music* (may not be actually true) and this year will be no different at S.A.S.H!!!

After a successful year at our new home with some of the biggest names in house music from overseas and at home coming down to play, we’re not changing a thing to bring in 2013

So, on that note we are proud to announce that we have once again, two massive internationals for our NYE party this year, as well as some shit hot locals and our ever trusty S.A.S.H residents. We’ll be running the terrace and inside with two distinctly different styles to keep even the most discerning chin stroker happy and we’ll also be running both of them all night long till 6am. Tickets will be a steal for NYW party, starting at $35 fro Early Bird sales, $45 first release, $55 second and $65 final.

If you’ve got plans to go see the fireworks or the like, then come to us after. If you’ve got plans for the wee hours of the morning, then come to us beforehand. Or just spend the whole night within the confines and bring in the new year with S.A.S.H….

The Terrace will be headlined by Russ Yallop, who if any of you saw come and play for "S.A.S.H In The Cellar" back in March, then you know why we've decided to have him back again. Inside, The Den will be headlined by Pig & Dan doing their debut Australian live show and the only place to see it when they're in Sydney.

Moonshine @ Poolclub

WHERE: Poolclub, Sydney

WHEN: Friday, November 16, 2012

Gabby's career began in the world of dance. From 2002 she appeared as a feature dancer in a number of music videos, films and live performances at numerous events in Australia and internationally. By the mid noughties, Gabby's passion for music led to a flirtation with the decks, which swiftly saw her playing guest sets at a number of enviable bookings including Future Music Festival, Sensation White, Kink in her first few years of DJing. As a DJ today, she's the lady of choice for techno and house for a number of the best club nights around.

Beyond her knack of playing deep house and techno in an incredibly fun, accessible way, the girl can also sing and write a hook or two... Her few forays into the studio have led to ARIA chart topping releases and license requests from a handful of internationally released compilations as well as appearances on Ministry of Sound compilations. GABBY's currently in the studio finishing off a new collaboration with Act Yo Age for their much anticipated new single and is also in the midst of finishing her single with NTFO and HOSH, due for release on Solomun's Diynamic imprint.

Also, hailing from Perth, we have Matikan coming to play for us. With surgically accurate technical skills and a strong sense of how to create a vibe, his eclectic musical style will see him take us on a journey though a wide range of ethnically diverse music, across the house, nu disco & techno spectrum.

E.1. LAUNCH PARTY

WHERE: ??????

WHEN: Saturday, October 20, 2012

E.1. LAUNCH PARTY feat. LEE BRINX & COZZY D (LOWER EAST/HOT WAVE)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Underground dance music events with an East London touch!

E.1. is about getting like minded people together that share
a passion for underground music, in fresh out door Sydney venues throughout the summer partying season.

We have been searching across Sydney and have locked down some of the most unique outdoor/ warehouse venues for our upcoming parties.

Sydney partying seems to be stagnating and is crying out for a fresh party to elevate Sydney's party scene on par with East London's vibe that Sydney clubbers are desperately crying out for!

INTERNATIONAL GUESTS:

COZZY D
____________________________________________________________________________

The creative mind plays with the objects it loves. London’s underground electronic scene therefore has been littered with the ideas, designs and impulses of Cozzy D for over a decade now. His tireless work as producer, DJ, promoter and label owner has embedded his influence throughout every annex of the scene, thus yielding a far-reaching impact on dance music culture as a whole. Not only establishing himself as an essential artist through prolific productions and immersive DJ sets, Cozzy has also managed to help inspire a new generation of dance music enthusiasts through his record label and successful parties; revealing him as an instrumental part of London reclaiming its strong identity within the scene once again. Pushing an eclectic take on deep house and techno, Cozzy’s music is emblazoned with soul and musicality backed up with potent basslines and expertly crafted beats. Quickly gaining him a reputation as a revered music maker, his versatile productions have seen release on prestigious labels such as Real Tone, Four:Twenty, 1Trax & Lower East, the imprint he runs alongside Lee Brinx and Dexter Kane. At the start of 2012, Cozzy cemented his place at the forefront of a movement with the magnificent ‘Mythical Mystery’ EP on Lower East. Featuring the lush, tripped out jam ‘Aphrodite,’ the EP displays Cozzy’s ability to go far beyond the dancefloor and delivers a lasting musical snapshot of his time and place. As label co-owner, Cozzy presided over Lower East as it became one of the capital’s most celebrated underground labels throughout 2011. The imprint played a huge role in the revival of London-centric house and techno by unleashing a plethora of the city’s most promising emerging talents to the world. Artists like Alexis Raphael, Wildkats, Max Chapman and James Pople joined Lee Brinx, Dexter Kane and Cozzy himself on the label to raise the bar for all London based producers. Mixing home-grown talent with the best from abroad, Lower East have broadened their horizons further with the addition of international stars such as Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed and Puente & Rosch whose anthemic ‘This Feeling’ became an instant DC-10 hit. Cozzy also co-runs acclaimed Sunday party Crèche with Alexis Raphael. Already recognised as one of London’s biggest parties, Crèche will take its diverse sound and unbeatable atmosphere to a unique collection of both intimate and large-scale spaces throughout the year ahead. 2011 saw the party branch out into Ibiza, hosting parties at Delano Beach Club whilst venturing into ‘The Big One’ series of parties back in London. Recent guests have included Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Kerri Chandler, Maya Jane Coles and Shonky, not to mention residents Alexis Raphael and Cozzy who brings his inimitable DJ style with him to fuse deep house with a hint of nu-disco, techno and old skool garage vibes to subtlety build the crowd into frenzy. A multi-faceted artist that truly understands underground culture, Cozzy D is not only carving out his own place in musical history, but helping those around him to create their own too. With each of his impressive projects going from strength to strength, his is a name that looks set only to grow in reputation and stature. The only question is just how far he can reach!

LEE BRINX
____________________________________________________________________________

Lee’s an eighties child and his interest in music started at a young age growing up to his parents soundtrack of Motown, Soul and Rare Groove. As his own tastes developed, guitar based music started to become his focus, which influenced him to take up the instrument himself. A few years later his attention was diverted to electronic dance music. Within months the guitar had been shelved, and turntables were its replacement. Over the years Lee’s musical direction has diversified, but a love of garage grooves and deep beats complimented by melodic bass lines has developed consistently to be very resonant in his sound. Playing in local clubs he secured a residency whilst still in his teens, and after an impromptu holiday to Ibiza for the Millennium, the natural progression saw him set out with his records to hit the White Isle the following summer. This resulted in a residency at the infamous Milk Bar and appearances at El Divino and Es Paradis. Following summers in Ibiza helped Lee to cement his musical career and has lead to appearances in the likes of Privilege, Space and The Zoo. These seasons were fundamental in carving out a musical path for Lee, however his feet are now firmly on the ground in London. He continues to play across the Capital and is a firm fixture within the East London clubbing community. This can be confirmed by his residency for Creche, recently voted one the best club nights of 2011 by Mixmag. Lee also runs a party in Kent, OFF KEY. Started in April 2009 as a bank holiday sunday day time affair it has been hailed as “One of the best outdoor events in the UK” by DJ Mag. The A list line ups have included the likes of Sasha, Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones. June 2010 saw the launch of Lee’s label Lower East alongside Cozzy D & Ed Kane (www.lower-east.com). Their monthly releases have so far seen Lee's music remixed by the likes of Uner, Nima Gorji, Robert James and WiLDKATS. With a recent release on Hot Creations off shoot, Hot Waves and a remix on Deconstruction scheduled for early 2012, the future is looking interesting for this rising London star.

JAMES PETROU
____________________________________________________________________________

He may not be tall enough to play in the NBA but James Petrou is a rising star on the music scene. During a period in electronic music in which every second person is a DJ or producer his passion for good music and eclectic sound sets him apart from the herd.

Born in Bringelly and raised on a farm, James grew up on a diet of classic rock, disco and funk and these early influences permeate his style. Far more concerned with the quality of a tune and its ability to elicit a reaction in the listener than its genre or what record label it’s on James’ music is a forward thinking blend of throbbing bass-lines, groovy drums and tweaked vocals all designed to get the sweat dripping off the walls.

Like many modern day artists his love affair with electronic music started on the other side of the turntables. He fell in love with house music in the late nineties and hasn’t looked back. A true music lover if he isn’t in the studio or behind the decks he is probably losing it on a dance floor somewhere.
