LATE NITE TUFF GUY

WHERE: The Island
WHEN: Saturday, February 9, 2013

Aww yeah, 6 months after one of our ALL TIME favourite parties down at The Civic, we're bringing the one, the only, Late Nite Tuff Guy back up to Sydney, this time for a glorious afternoon on The Island. For those of you lucky enough to experience the last show, you'll know what kind of extraordinary sounds are in store - and to be able to host one of the Australia's most legendary DJs on a stunning harbour venue in summer is just so good.

HMC first made his mark in the early '80s, when he was one of the first DJs in the country to spin Chicago house and Detroit techno. He made his production debut back in 1991 with the 100% Juice EP on Juice Records, Australia's first techno label. In 1995 he released "Phreakin'" as the first twelve-inch on Dirty House Records, which went on to become an international hit and put Adelaide on the world map as what people were calling the "Aussie Detroit". All of this spells one thing: PIONEER. It's not often people can legitimately be labelled "The Godfather" of something, but not many people will dispute the title being handed to HMC when it comes to Australian techno.

In recent years, Bianchetti has made a prolific return to producing, both as HMC and under the moniker Late Nite Tuff Guy. "I Get Deeper" had a truly massive impact all over the world, and his string of amazing releases on disco edits imprint Dessert Island Discs indicates that he's back with a vengeance and a newfound excitement for sharing the music he's passionate about. At the last ONS we got a taste of just how deep his catalogue runs - seems like only a tiny number of his edits have been released to the public, so you'll have to catch him in the flesh to hear some of his hidden treasures. He's also been talking about making the move to Berlin so make the most of him still being here in Aus!

BUTCH (GER)

WHERE: The Abercrombie
WHEN: Saturday, February 9, 2013

***TICKETS AVAILABLE FROM RA/PULSE RADIO//1ST RELEASE $20***

Mantra Collective are turning The Abercrombie into a vibrant jungle for their exclusive one off event “An Afternoon with Butch”. Expect vines, trees and wild animals coupled with cutting edge house and tech all day long.

Butch is returning after his whirl-wind Australian tour with John Digweed in early 2012 and amazing Essential Mix on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show. Over 100 releases in 5 years have enabled Butch from Germany to express his versatility and brute-fully force his way to becoming a shaping artist in the worldwide landscape of electronic music.

This success comes as no surprise, anyone who manages to release on the labels of artists such as Ricard Villalobos (Sei es Drum), Sven Väth (Cocoon) and Radioslave (Rekids) within a year and gets voted “producer of the year” (2010 & 2011) by the GROOVE magazine readers for two consecutive years, has doubtlessly worked his way up to the small circle of artists which pack the most renowned clubs and festivals as headliners.

With support from local talent including Aboutjack, Whitecat, Antoine Vice, Space Junk and Ben Ashton, this will be one wild party… literally!

M.A.N.D.Y.

WHERE: Goldfish
WHEN: Saturday, February 9, 2013

Another massive booking by the team at Goldfish on Saturday 2nd Feb as The Mile High Club & Musik Matters are pleased to announce Patrick from M.A.N.D.Y.

There is an air of mystery shrouding the true meaning behind the acronym of M.A.N.D.Y., an alias which embodies the mutual talents of childhood friends Philipp Jung and Patrick Bodmer. The pair readily indulge this curiosity by toying with various clever possibilities, including Me AND You, but the truth is likely a giggle under each of their talented breaths. P and P have carved a unique niche in electronic music by consistently selecting productions that induce their audience into a somatic frenzy. On the platform of their aptly titled Get Physical label, M.A.N.D.Y. has achieved massive success in colluding to create music that simply makes bodies move. Their foot stamping, hair flying passion is the ultimate expression of a dance music phenomenon for many years.

When M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade joined as musical soul mates with DJ T., first in Frankfurt, then in Berlin, Get Physical produced a caliber of electricity that rippled throughout the EDM community and into the relative mainstream. Philipp's charm and savvy, Patrick's allusive artistry, DJ T.'s killer entrepreneurial sense and Booka Shade's collaborative genius combined to form a masterpiece of intelligent design that reflects romantic sensibility and technical virtuosity. Together, they push the boundaries of dance music to compile an enviable arsenal of electro kissing house while caressing disco and flirting with techno. Body Language was the ubiquitous hit of 2005 and M.A.N.D.Y.'s Fabric Series three years later cemented their reputation as two of the most captivating selectors on the planet. One of their most recent prestige was a complication for Renaissance in 2009 which was met with tremendous accolades and described by Resident Advisor as "maturity, smarts, and cohesion...that is rare these days."

Patrick knows exactly which buttons to press to make that bass jiggle up your spine and seduce your body free… Don't miss your chance to catch M.A.N.D.Y. In the intimate surroundings of The Goldfish..

BUTCH

Brute name, versatile sound: Over 100 releases in 5 years have enabled BUTCH to express this versatility and brute-fully force his way to becoming a shaping artist in the worldwide
landscape of electronic music.

Honestly this success comes as no surprise, anyone who manages to release on the labels of artists such as Ricard Villalobos (Sei es Drum), Sven Väth (Cocoon) and Radioslave (Rekids) within a year and gets voted “producer of the year” (2010 & 2011) by the GROOVE magazine readers for two consecutive years, has doubtlessly worked his way up to the small circle of artists, which pack the most renowned clubs and festivals as headliners.

For Butch his latest performances include Tokyo's own Womb, Fabric in London, Cielo in New York and the Time Warp 2011. Last summer he followed Carl Cox's invitation to play together at Space in Ibiza and spent every other week with his own residency at Sankeys on the most beloved Mediterranean island. 2012 started just like the last year ended – many more miles were added to the Lufthansa card: After a tour through Mexico, Central America and Australia, top notch clubs in Europe are waiting for Butch: Robert Johnson in Offenbach,
Tenax in Florence, Cadenza at Ushuaia Beach (Ibiza), Loveland in the Netherlands, Extrema Festival in Belgium and the renowned “Sonne Mond und Sterne” as well as the “Merkwürdige Verhalten am Strand” - festivals are all expecting to be captured by Butch's sound. On the other hand capturing what Butch's style is exactly isn't that simple. The range within the productions of the Mainz born artist stretches from House to Techno, but Butch manages to inject his own authentic and unique sound, which digs itself through the fans' and DJs' ears right into their hearts.

The musical diversity and his joy for experimentation have made his albums “Papillon” (2008) and “Eyes Wide Open” (2010) to audible feasts for every gourmet, to be enjoyed just as much on the home stereo as well as in any club.

That his sound achieves positive resonance en masse is impressively shown on the Resident Advisor homepage. The website which claims to be an international indicator for the credibility of electronic music and its producers, had Butch up as the “Most Charted Artist” for over a year. A success which speaks volumes, because it cannot be manipulated as record sales once were; solely the charts of a worldwide DJ community count.

The good-spirited global player has a lot more music coming for us to look forward to. More new releases on other top labels are ready to hit the floors, furthermore (as well as on anstatt furthermore?) his own record label bouq. which is maturing to be the renowned imprint which won't be standing in the shadows of its makers (besides Butch this includes his friend and studio-partner Amir) any longer. By the way, within the next twelve months, Butch will hit the stores with a new album. Good times, stay tuned!

EDU IMBERNON

Edu Imbernon is a great example of how a young artist can pave his way to become respected on the electronic scene with his talent as producer and dj.

After the worldwide hit “El baile alemán” (Liebe Detail, 2009) produced with his friend Coyu, appointed “Best Underground Track of the Year” by Beatport , several tracks for labels as important as Get Physical, Young Turks, Skint, Stil vor Talent, Cr2, Noir Music, Trapez, Great Stuff, Dynamic and his own label Eklektisch.

His quality as producer and his ability to add a nu-disco tint to the dancefloor edge of his tracks have led him to remix bands such as The XX showcasing this homogenous blend of electronica, house and indie. Succesful remixes for Maya Jane Coles or X-press2 came afterwards.

The emergence of Edu Imbernon on the dance scene couldn’t go by unnoticed by the specialised press which has acknowledged his artistic quality by awarding him several prizes: Best New Producer 2010 and Best Track 2010 and 2011 at the Spanish Dance Music awards, and also named an up-and-coming star by Beatport in 2010.

His aim is to make music that can be felt, full of energy to reach the audience. “This is the only way that people will remember your music, trying to make them feel something special and making them dance”, in the words of this young artist who’s already played on 4 continents. He’s here to make his mark!

HEIDI WAREHOUSE PARTY - BBC RADIO 1, GET PHYSICAL

WHERE: Secret Warehouse
WHEN: 25th of January 2013

One of Sydney’s inner city warehouse's dance floor is about to get a dark and dirty sheet of techno-tronic vibes shadowing from above and cursing through its veins when house and techno goddess DJ Heidi reigns over the decks on Friday 25th of Jan. As a cute, little blonde bombshell, she may exude that quirky innocence but you’ve been warned: Close the door and turn off the lights, and she will turn on you — with claws out, in an all-out audio assault. As one of BBC Radio 1′s “In New DJs We Trust” as well as hosting her own ‘Radio 1's Residency’ on Thursday nights, Heidi has been known for tripping the radio wires with bass-jackin’ techno beats and causing all those via the streams to move in coinciding booty grinding motions. Good God, can you imagine how this will all sound in a warehouse?! AMAZING.
