Bio - Edu Imbernon

Edu Imbernon is a great example of how a young artist can quickly reach the top in the electronic scene… it’s his talent as producer and DJ that’s got him there.

After the worldwide hit “El baile alemán” (Liebe Detail, 2009) produced along his friend Coyu and appointed "Best Underground Track of the Year" by Beatport , several tracks for lauded labels like Get Physical, Young Turks, Skint, Stil vor Talent, Cr2, Noir Music, Trapez, Great Stuff, Diynamic and his own label Eklektisch. His quality as a producer and his ability to add a nu-disco tint to the dancefloor edge of his tracks have led him to remix bands such as The XX showcasing this homogenous blend of electronica, house and indie. Succesful remixes for Maya Jane Coles and X-Press 2 also ensued.

The emergence of Edu Imbernon on the dance scene couldn't go by unnoticed by the specialised press which has acknowledged his artistic quality by awarding him several prizes: Best New Producer 2010 and Best Track 2010 and 2011 at the Spanish Dance Music awards, and also named an up-and-coming star by Beatport in 2010.His aim is to make music that can be felt, full of energy which will connect with his audiences.

"This is the only way that people will remember your music, trying to make them feel something special and making them dance” says this young artist who's already played on 4 continents

Bio - Maxxi Sound System

Before the runaway success of club hit ‘Criticize’ which exploded everywhere at the beginning of 2011 from Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show to being featured on Beats in Space Best of 2010 Sam Watts had been DJing, putting on parties and working hard in his studio for a number of years in his home town of Brighton.

His follow up single was the first track on Nurvous Records (a new label from NYC legendary label Nervous Records), the track Open Your Eyes on Jamie Jones Hot Waves label and recent EP on needwant records has seen huge support from Radio1’s Jaymo & Andy George (who put him in their Future Stars of 2012 show) and DJs across the board from Maceo Plex, Danny Daze, Tensnake, Morgan Geist and Aeroplane to Tiefschwarz, Groove Armada and Sasha. Remixes in 2011 have also been flying out for the like of Hercules & Love Affair, The 2 Bears and Parallel Dance Ensemble the latter which hit the #1 spot on Beatport’s indie dance chart.

Maxxi Soundsystem has already toured extensively in 2011 taking in Glastonbury, Glade Festival, Creamfields, Sankeys Manchester, Flux Leeds, Disco Bloodbath, Rex Club Paris, Athens and Fabric; proving he can rock any dancefloor that’s put in front of him; playing a set made up of his own edits and remixes plus music plucked from his 8 years experience playing in clubs.

2012 is set to be a big year for Sam with new original material already signed to Futureboogie and Wolf Music plus a remix for the re-issue of classic disco label SAM Records (his track has been picked for a special vinyl-only release shared with Soul Clap) due out in Feb he is now concentrating on new original material with some exciting collaborations in the pipeline.

BUTCH (GER)

WHERE: The Abercrombie
WHEN: Saturday, February 9, 2013

***TICKETS AVAILABLE FROM RA/PULSE RADIO//1ST RELEASE $20***

Mantra Collective are turning The Abercrombie into a vibrant jungle for their exclusive one off event “An Afternoon with Butch”. Expect vines, trees and wild animals coupled with cutting edge house and tech all day long.

Butch is returning after his whirl-wind Australian tour with John Digweed in early 2012 and amazing Essential Mix on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show. Over 100 releases in 5 years have enabled Butch from Germany to express his versatility and brute-fully force his way to becoming a shaping artist in the worldwide landscape of electronic music.

This success comes as no surprise, anyone who manages to release on the labels of artists such as Ricard Villalobos (Sei es Drum), Sven Väth (Cocoon) and Radioslave (Rekids) within a year and gets voted “producer of the year” (2010 & 2011) by the GROOVE magazine readers for two consecutive years, has doubtlessly worked his way up to the small circle of artists which pack the most renowned clubs and festivals as headliners.

With support from local talent including Aboutjack, Whitecat, Antoine Vice, Space Junk and Ben Ashton, this will be one wild party… literally!

Dusky:
London based producers Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman make house music that’s inseparable from the genre’s tradition but comes with both a widescreen ambition and a distinctly UK underground edge.

Timeless, fresh, both classic and contemporary and unmistakably theirs, Dusky's sound is influenced by everything from deep Detroit techno and bumping UK garage to classical and avant-garde electronica.

In a short time, the London based duo have rapidly marked themselves out as producers with a uniquely broad appeal. Their diverse 2011 album 'Stick By This' was celebrated by Pete Tong as one of the album's of the year, singles like 'Tyto Alba' and 'Flo Jam' on Dogmatik have blown up as house/garage straddling underground anthems, while Hot Chip wasted no time in commissioning them to transform their 'Night & Day' single into a modern garage bomb.

At the same time, darker excursions into warehouse techno like 'Calling Me' and 'Muriel' have been hammered by Paul Woolford, Maya Jane Coles and Loefah.

As comfortable writing elegant orchestral pieces or stirring piano motifs as they are jackin’ house and techno grooves, Dusky will continue to naturally shift into new soundworlds, always united by the duo’s singular aim; to compose electronic music with depth, soul and originality.

Chinese Laundry is kicking off a massive month of headliners with one of the fastest rising talents in the Tech House and House scene.

This Saturday the 3rd of November, headlining in the Cave we bring you MARK FANCIULLI, the artist responsible for one of the most charted tracks in 2011 “The Tide”.

Mark Fanciulli has had an incredible 12 months. Aged 25 and with just three solo releases, it’s surprising how fast he has shot to fame. His release ‘The Tide’ which came out on Rejected in 2011, caught the entire industry’s attention with Joris Voorn’s edit being one of the most charted tracks on Resident Advisor last year. The track has since been nominated for 2 IDMA’s at this years WMC conference.

Mark’s next release ‘Keep On’ on Area Remote, a collaboration with Jordan Peak, equally saw him gain recognition - so naturally 2011 ended with worldwide DJ gigs at some of the most established venues in London, Istanbul, Padova and many more.

Whilst visiting some of the worlds biggest clubs Mark has similarly played alongside some of the most critically acclaimed DJ’s such as Damian Lazarus, Joris Voorn, Paul Woolford, Mark Broom and Heidi to name a few.

Continued support on his releases have also been shown by Pete Tong on Radio 1, Ali (Tiefschwarz), Deetron, Maceo Plex, Seth Troxler, Laurent Garnier, Maya Jane Coles and many more.

Throw into the mix the crew from BAD APPLE who are hosting the Cave for the night, and we can guarantee this is going to be a quality party that you won’t want to miss…..

In the Laundry we have returning local legend KID KENOBI alongside a whole host of Chinese Laundry regular big names including Blaze Tripp , U-Khan & A-Tonez who will feature with an amazing MC KItch
