PETER VAN HOESEN

WHERE: One22
WHEN: Friday, January 25, 2013

Peter Van Hoesen Is Belgium's Peter Van Hoesen the techno artist of 2012? We think so. The evidence is compelling. A new album 'Perceiver' on his label Time To Express, a new album as Sendai with Yves De Mey, podcasts for XLR8R, mnmlssgs, CLR and Electric Deluxe. He played the coveted Sunday night set at Japan's legendary Labyrinth festival melting minds over 4 hours, a 4D sound performance at ADE and tearing up clubs around the world every other week - he's been pretty much untouchable.

Currently living in Berlin, Peter got his start running around the Brussels electronic music scene as DJ and producer as early as 1993. Playing everything from straight-up dancefloor jackin' techno to advanced abstract electronica, his tracks and remixes have been released on his own labels Time To Express and Foton as well as through Meakusma, Ostgut Ton, CLR, Hotflush, Exone, Token, Komisch, Lan Muzic, Curle and many more. Peter well and truly made his name known with the launch of 'Entropic City' his first LP in 2010 to much critical acclaim.

This is Peter's second trip to Sydney, his first club set here, and his only Sydney show. We are very, very excited to be part of this.

Supporting Peter will be Sydney's DJ Trinity (4our) and James Walsh (Anomaly)

DJ Trinity -

As a DJ, Trinity's sound has continued to evolve over the past few years to a fluid and deep, dark and dubby, atmospheric and emotional take on dancefloor techno. As part of the crew behind the Loosekaboose and 4our events, she's been responsible for bringing such names as Steffi and Eric Cloutier to our shores. As Trinity and Beyond, she's a number of releases on Pinksilver and Moodmusic that have shown leanings from dub to techno to acid, and have caught the ear, and been remixed by such names as Deepchild, Pezzner and XDB. We feel that Trinity will perfectly complement PVH, and can't wait to see what she does on the night,.

James Walsh -

One of the new breed of talent rising though Sydney's underground, James marathon performances at recent outdoor even Anomaly has got toungues wagging all over town. His sound, a psychedelic and slow burning take on deep house, techno and abstract ambient grooves has been honed through bouncing around Sydney's warehouse scene, Japan's techno clubs and festivals and he has an amazing eye and ear for those impossible to find pieces of vinyl from all over the world. We look forward to what James will pull out as he warms up the room.

SONIDO with SIMON CALDWELL

WHERE: One22

WHEN: Saturday, January 12, 2013

After a jam-packed launch party SONIDO returns for another house and techno love affair at our favourite underground club One22.

Last time round, with an unplanned extended set Simon Caldwell tore the club apart and turned the dance floor into pandemonium until the lights came up. So without question we had to get him back in the driving seat to do what he does best.

Simon is a master in his field and has been lighting up dancefloors around the globe since the early nineties. From his legendary Mad Racket parties to sharing the stage with the likes of Richie Hawtin, Dave Clarke and Derrick May to name but a few, Simon has done it all. Catch Simon every Monday night for Sunset on FBI Radio on 94.5FM or www.fbiradio.com/program/monday-sunset/

Balearic in spirit, but rooted firmly in house and nu disco we would like to introduce to Australia, UK dj and producer Tang. Tang jets out to Sydney for his Australian debut bringing his delectable musical treats for you to sample. Past, present and future classics guaranteed. With a residency at London's 93 Feet East and festivals including Glastonbury under his belt it brings us great pleasure in welcoming him to Sonido.

And of course your Sonido residents, Tom Harwood, Ryan Kenna and Andy Myatt

See you on the floor kids...!!!

DANNI B (Melb/Berlin)

WHERE: One22
WHEN: Saturday 5th January, 2013

Returning back for a short trip home to Australia from her newly adopted home in Berlin is one of Australia’s finest tech house DJ’s Danni B. Ex-Melbournite Danni has now been based in Berlin since June 2012, playing at several underground clubs and now even working for the acclaimed Soundcloud.

As well as being one of the nicest people we’ve met in dance music, Danni is a killer DJ, check out some of here mixes here;

Supporting Danni on the night are some of Sydney’s up & coming talents;

Ezequiel and LeOCh (Significant Others)
Steve Walsh (Oscillate)
Scuba Stew

$5 before 11pm / $15 after
$5 local tap beer & House spirit until midnight.

Danni B – Bio

As a hobbyist spinning tunes in the bedroom from 2003, she first made the transition from the dance floor to the club decks in 2005 and, after realising that the best way to break into the scene was to host a party, Danni envisioned ‘Tickled Pink’ - conceived from the fact there was space in the scene for a female DJ night - now one of Melbourne’s highly successful event brands.

Danni has been busy ever since, securing gigs at all of Melbourne’s popular events and holding a long standing residency at Melbourne’s techno institution Pretty Simple at Ffour as well as playing regularly at Killing Time, Tramp & Bimbo Deluxe. She is also a regular fixture on the line up for the world renowned, Rainbow Serpent Festival. The last few years have also seen Danni play interstate gigs at Cairns Winter Solstice Festival 2 years running, and 2010 saw her headlining Church Of Techno and Space Ibiza Festival NYD in Sydney plus many more.

2009 saw Danni venture into a new chapter of her career in touring and promoting international acts and running successful parties with Daniel Dreier (Berlin), Christian Burkhardt (GER) and managing
the Australian tour of David Keno (Berlin) in September 2010. Danni also completed working on the debut Melbourne show for Dyed Soundorom (France) in November 2011 under her ‘Tickled Pink Events’ brand.

June 2011 saw Danni return to Melbourne after doing her first international gigs at Golden Gate in Berlin & Yes Club in Prague, where her sets got rave reviews. She has embarked on another European adventure in June 2012, where Danni has relocated to Berlin to expand her career in the music industry.

With influences ranging from the minimal tech sounds of Inxec and Reboot, the deep house grooves of Dyed Soundorom and Maceo Plex, and electronica beats of Nicolas Jaar, she is a very versatile performer. Danni’s sets have two distinctive sounds - She has a deep low-slung club groove, and her chunkier upbeat percussive festival and outdoor party sound.

WHERE: One22, Sydney

WHEN: Friday 23rd November 2012

FRIDAY 23RD NOVEMBER - 9:00PM at One22

Straight up Drum & Bass / Jungle for the people of Sydney.

Round 2 is here! Double Up? is back again to rinse out One22's turbo charged sound system. Our launch party was off it's ever-loving tits, and come November 23rd we're laying it down again with two guest DJ's featuring alongside our regulars…

In the liquid corner we have special guest Severity Zero, a DJ/Producer sneakily working away at building up an impressive catalogue of quality releases. Sev has releases on labels such as Celsius Recordings, Think Deep and Stepping Forward and brings the soul vibes by the stack - definitely one to keep an eye on.

In the heavyweight corner, special guest Bionic is also stepping up and will be tearing all kinds of fabric in his signature style. Having roots in playing music and throwing parties in the UK, this foot-stomping badman has also turned to production in recent years, proving to be quite the conductor.

Regular DU? crew Kleva1, Billy Green and FKNA are also stepping up to the platters, spinning anything from jungle to liquid, with a tech detour or two in between. MC Antic is elevating once again, bringing the big, buttery lyrics that keep your ears begging for more.

This is going to be a sick party.

FLEX

WHERE: One 22, Sydney

WHEN: Friday 16th of November 2012

THE WEEKLY R&G team are proud to announce a night of DEEP UNDERGROUND TECH HOUSE pressure THIS FRIDAY @ the equally underground ONE22 venue in PITT Street

FLEX has been put together with the underground house connoisseur in mind. The focus on the night will be to bring together performers who are masters of the art of set presentation and the ability to take audiences on a journey with technical brilliance.

DANTE RIVERA (PERU)

JAYKAY MISTERY (Sydney, '89)

JIMUPHY MASTERS (UK)
http://weeklyrng.wix.com/home#!jimuphy-masters---the-weekly-rg-host/c1o7m

Alongside these giants we have the new gen DJ YENGA from HOUSE NIGHTS

Make no mistake the line-up contains DJs who are not only at the peak of their game but have a history in underground dance that covers 3 continents, clubs all over the world in major cities, contributions to the production of house releases, remixes, A&R, record labels and the list goes on.

In addition these guys will play most a-listed DJs OFF the park such is the immensity of their ability. Its a sad fact that in Sydney today the best and most innovative performers aren't the ones that will be booked and often have to step aside whilst promoters spend hard-earned aussie dollars on internationals who don't necessarily add monetary value or depth to a limp scene.

For the price of a glass of wine, this Friday you have a chance to hear a collection of DJs that you may not have come across through no fault of your own or theirs, but you will leave FLEX realising that you don't need to go overseas to hear WORLD CLASS performances from LOCAL DJs..
We are right here at FLEX this FRIDAY adding real value to SYDNEY UNDERGROUND

Psycatron Bio:

Berlin:Detroit - a musical alliance that resonates deeply with electronic music lovers around the world and has done for the past two decades. Add Belfast to this equation and you have Irish duo Psycatron who have dropped releases on both sides of the Atlantic through Carl Craig's Planet E Communications from Detroit, as well as Berlins' Tresor imprint, while also finding time for the odd excursion on the likes of Scuba's Hotflush Recordings, R&S Records, Cocoon and their own upcoming Inflyte Records, which alongside being a home for their own output, is set to feature material from the likes of Francesco Tristano, Dave Clarke and Kirk Degiorgio in it's opening year.

Their touring schedule has followed a similar global trajectory, touching down everywhere from Fabric to Berghain, The Rex Club and Barracca, to Movement Festival in Detroit, I Love Techno in Belgium and many more of the best clubs and festivals worldwide. In between tours they continue their long-standing residency at Ireland's longest-running techno institution, Shine in Belfast. With musical influences ranging from Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk to Underground Resistance and Jean Michel Jarre, it's easy to see where the raw emotion, tension and energy prevalent in their music stems from.

Being born less than 12 hours apart and subsequently growing up hitting the same techno parties in Belfast, is another common bond that has helped shape the Psycatron sound, where the past clearly influences the future but has an entirely different slant on it. T ouring wit h Carl Craig and Planet E, ending up on Fact Magazines Top 50 Tracks of the year and performing on London's infamous Boiler Room TV are some of the recent highlight s of t his duos career who among their fan count you'll find the likes Depeche Mode's Martin L Gore, Francois K and Dave C

Also on the the line up for this exclusive Sydney show are :
Defined By Rhythm (Disconnected Audio )
Sebastian Bayne ( I?F Records / Tressor )
U-khan (Chinese Laundry / NZ
Eoin Brosnan (Future Theories )

Steve Rachmad

WHERE: One22, Sydney

WHEN: Saturday, October 27, 2012

Joining forces in a techno union this October the dedicated techno heads from Disconnected and lovers of all things deep & melodic Shrug bring you one of the worlds most influential techno artists who’s been at the forefront of the art form for longer that most of you have been filling dance floors.

Correlating a following in his European homeland of the Netherlands for his European take on Detroit techno Steve has cemented himself in Techno annuals of history.

In 1995 Sterac aka Steve Rachmad released hi
s first album 'Secret Life of Machines' on Amsterdam imprint 100% Pure. A composition of nine beautifully sultry tracks from the melodic techno flow of ‘Axion’ to the sheer brilliance, beauty and soul of ‘Astronotes’. It was hailed as a defining highlight in Techno history.

17 years later, Sterac has reached back to that classic milestone in Detroit Techno’s heritage and has given it a whole new lease of musical life for release on 100% Pure in June.

Sterac adds “I still own the equipment that I used back then, so I remade a selection of the tracks with my studio machines - a Roland TR-808, R-8m, U-20, Juno 106, JX 8p as well as my Yamaha TX-81z and FB-01."

Following the remastered release in June on 100% Pure, Steve delivers his own remix treatments, then we bring the heat to the summer with a massive rollout of headliner remixes in August by Ricardo Villalobos, Joris Voorn, 2000 and One, Christian Smith, Joel Mull, Heiko Laux, Marc Romboy, Samuel L Session, Vince Watson, Klartraum and Nadja Lind.

The word is out...

Dear Friends, Punters & Music Lovers alike,

It is a sad tale we must recount today, but where there is darkness there is light, and the sadness of this story is tinged with hope; hope that you, dear reader, can ignite.

It was a grave misfortune when one John Joseph Frederick Dean Dixon Jr stepped out of a cab one night unaware of the contents left behind, a misfortune that has proven to be a cruel and devastating loss. To his benefit four fellow vinyl Dj’s and friends come together for one night to replenish and help restore Dean’s loss - namely one black record bag containing sixty rare, signed and collectable vinyls, and one set of headphones.

We ask that you join us down at One22 Nightclub on the Friday 12th October to help restore not only a poor man’s faith, but also the faith in vinyl Dj’s worldwide; the faith that we will continue to peruse our love and will to play 12” records for the donation door entry price of $10.

All proceeds will go to John Joseph Frederick Dean Dixon Jr directly, who will most likely be in the same state as he was in when he lost his records in the first place.

From all at the Recovery Fund,
Eric, Dave, Dave, Magda & Simon.

Echo Inspectors (Live - Pinksilver/Melb),
Dave Stuart,
Ben Ashton,
Andosound,

Following on from a year of dub heavy beat nights in Melbourne town we’re excited to bring the Echoes – Experiments in Dub events to Sydney starting Sept 29th.

This night celebrating the influence of Dub in electronic music, from its Jamaican origins to House, Techno and Dubstep.

Dub, developed originally on the late sixties focusing on the rhythmic parts of a Reggae recording, grew to be a genre on its own right that has literally shaken the world ever since. It was a powerful experiment that has pushed the use of the mixing desk as an instrument and gave greater control to the sound engineer as a producer. It set the blueprint for much of the dance music that has followed.

ECHOES will take you on a bass heavy journey from Kingston to Berlin via Detroit and London.

For the Sydney launch party of ECHOES we have a very special treat from Echo Inspectors, the new live project from Melbourne lads & Pinksilver music bosses; Mark Baumann and Lance Harrison.

Echo Inspectors:
The Echo inspectors is a new project from Pinksilver Records Lance Harrison & Marcojux that explores their love for all things dub.

Seeking out vibrations of the malevolent and identifying spectres have been the Inspectors past goals. It is now their task the help punters caught in Techno purgatory to cross over and experience all things spatial.

Echo Inspectors will take you on a musically journey form the deep and dubby to the dry and textural, all intricately sculptured in the moment.

Two minds controlling multiple layers of sound and efx. A musical experience with a lot of depth, tension and rhythm.

Local Sydney supports on the night come from some the underground Dub-lovers spanning from a rare deep dubby reggae start of the night from Dave Stuart, through some lush dub techno & house from Brazilian import Gabriel Fernandes, Bad Apple’s Ben Ashton will take things deep & dark after the Echo Inspectors live set, and ending with a exploration into bass culture with Worldwide Favorite; Andosound.

NYC's Eric Cloutier, One 22

Where: One 22, Sydney

When: Friday 28th of September

Next up, 4our are proud to present the debut performance of NYC's Eric Cloutier in an intimate, extended club set at One22 on Friday 28th of September. We'll be handing over the 4our Rane rotary for 4 hours to a DJ who loves to delve deep into the farthest reaches of house and techno, and whose sprawling, sophisticated sets have landed him a residency at premiere NYC techno night The Bunker as well as a slot at Japan's renowned Labyrinth festival
in 2009.

Cloutier started spinning records in 1996, quickly establishing himself in Detroit's competitive local scene, holding down residencies at The Necto and prominent afterhours spot The Works. In 2006, Cloutier made the jump to New York and quickly established himself, earning a residency at the premiere monthly techno night The Bunker and mid-week soiree Den of Thieves. He's also begun his own night, Down, in which he often stretches out to play lengthy sets that showcase his range, effortlessly threading together deeper shades of house and dub-infused techno. 2009 saw Cloutier recording two mixes for the mnml ssgs podcast series, beginning to work in the studio for the first time on his own material as well as making his European DJing debut. Prior to touching down in Australia he'll be playing at Berlin's Panorama Bar and the mnml ssgs night at Tokyo's Dommune.

Support on the night will be provided by 4our residents Trinity and Magda Bytnerowicz, and to whet your appetite, Eric has prepared a mix for his debut Australian tour: http://soundcloud.com/4ourcast/4ourcast_03_eric-cloutier-down
